Registered Agent
A designated individual or entity authorized to receive legal and official tax documents on behalf of a business.
In many jurisdictions, particularly the US, a registered agent is legally required when forming an LLC or corporation. They must have a physical address in the state of incorporation and be available during standard business hours to accept service of process (lawsuits) and official government notices.
